L009UiGS-RM

The legendary RB2011 product line has provided affordable, flexible, and robust connectivity for over a decade. In fact, it was our very first router with SFP. Finally, it’s time for an upgrade. But don’t worry: we’ve kept and improved all the key elements and features of the beloved RB2011. Even the red color scheme and the appealing price!

There are three main reasons to choose the L009: better performance, more features, and some interesting quality-of-life improvements. Let’s start with the raw power and performance improvements.

L009 features a powerful dual-core ARM CPU. It offers significant improvement when it comes to routing and filtering, complex firewall rules, IPsec hardware encryption, and various advanced RouterOS features. ARM CPU architecture provides significant advantages over older MIPS-based devices. Like using all the latest Linux Kernel features. Or implementing your own container projects. The combination of a modern ARM CPU and a full-sized USB port is perfect for running custom container projects. You could run a Pi-hole adblock on this router, for example. Or you could use the USB to add an LTE modem of your choice. Imagination is the real limit here.

What is an Extendable Router?

Extendable routers provide one single, seamless WiFi network for the whole home. When it’s time to extend your network, you can simply add another unit to the mix. This system doesn’t require you to switch networks as you move about. The routers in your network will work in tandem to determine which one delivers the best signal to each connected device, and they will seamlessly transfer the connection to each other without any direct input or interaction on your part.

AiMesh is the key tech that makes so many ASUS routers extendable. AiMesh-compatible wireless routers can be connected to create a whole-home mesh WiFi network. When you renovate a basement, build an addition to your home, or move to a newer and larger one, you’ll be ready to extend your network easily with AiMesh. And all along, you’ll enjoy easy management tools, comprehensive security and a rich feature set.

Tips to improve your Digital wellbeing

Internet, smartphones, tablets, notebooks are tools that can provide efficiency and boost life. Most of us enjoy the digital technology life, but overuse can easily occur and then even turn into internet addiction (social media addiction, game addiction, pornography addiction, smartphone addiction, etc.). Here are a few examples of promoting digital wellbeing that can help you maintain a balance between your life and digital technology.

1. Setup network time scheduling

Not only children, but also we as adults all have internet addiction nowadays. We all need some easy-to-use tools to help us limit the amount of time we spend online and get off the Internet and go to bed earlier.

1-1 Set up time schedule for wireless signal. No matter your smartphone or Internet TV will automatically get off Internet after 11 pm. Now it’s time to go to bed and enjoy the sleeping time. And when 7 am the Wi-Fi is on, so you may not miss your E-mail or message at work.

2. Setup web and application filter

You may also want to be able to filter children’s online content to keep your kids safe when they explore the internet.

Block adult content can prevent child from visiting sexy, violent and illegal related content. Block instant message and communication content can prevent child from addicted to social networking usage.

3. Monitor phone usage when they don’t connect to router

If you need to look after the digital wellbeing of your children, an easy-using Parental Control function come with ASUS Router could be recommended. Take a few seconds to log in to ASUS Router app or Web GUI, you will be able to monitor devices that are connected to ASUS router, and set up online scheduling, filter unwilling content etc…as you need, anywhere, anytime. However, when children go out, using public Wi-Fi or mobile network, the device would not stay monitoring. If so, you may refer to iOS screen time or Android digital wellbeing, it would help you establish overall internet surveillance.
